CCTV Plus (CCTV+) and 23 provincial TV media held a seminar on Thursday to discuss the topic of distributing major video news content to global media via CCTV+’s channels after aggregating them from different provinces. The move aims at enhancing the efficiency of spreading provincial news outside China, shaping the global public opinion through specific news events and building brand images outside China of every province.

CCTV+ Newsharing was officially released at the seminar as an important platform for aggregating video news content from different provinces. The Newsharing platform is directly docked with the Global Distribution System (GDS) where real-time major video content from different provinces will be delivered to more than 1,800 overseas television channels and hundreds of mobile Internet media platforms 24 hours a day. The content will be provided to foreign media in five languages, namely English, French, Arabic, Spanish and Russian.

The Newsharing platform consists of three parts which are website, mobile application and server client. Major functions of the platform include uploads of news video and scripts, backstage editing and approval, and also mobile live broadcast. By virtue of the platform, provincial TV stations could upload videos and make video broadcasts anytime and anywhere. At the same time, it serves as an important window for provinces to publicize the status-quo, city images, tourism resources, people's livelihoods and cultures, as well as attract investment opportunities on a global scale by expanding media resources and opening up content channels connecting local and overseas media.

The seminar is held on the sidelines of the CGTN Global Media Summit and the 7th Global Video Media Forum (VMF). The VMF is a brand event launched by CCTV+ in 2011. From Tuesday to Thursday, over 500 media guests from 56 countries and regions gathered in Hainan Province, exploring changes and trends in the industry, sharing experiences and seeking cooperation.

Established December 2010, CCTV+ is China's authoritative video news agency with Chinese news and Chinese perspectives as its core. It currently releases 80 news materials per day on average, with users including BBC, CNN, Al Jazeera and AFP.
